...you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2: 19-22)

We as a community of Christian believers are the Christiania Church. We usually meet in a building in Christiania called Operaen (the opera) that was built by the Danish army in the 1830s as a stable on the ground floor, and as a hay store above. The church room retains the wall fixtures for tying horses and attaching hay feeders, as well as niches for the beams that separated the stalls, and the original cobble-stone floor.

Numerous events and prophecies have demonstrated to us that God has ordained that the Christiania Church should be located at the present premises. We have therefore devoted much effort to restoring and improving the facilities here.

The sculpture of The Risen Christ over the main church doors was created by artist Martin Jansen, who attends the church.
